The Marrakech House of Poetry is set to launch the eighth edition of the “Best Poem” competition for young poets, aimed at fostering creativity among Moroccan youth. Open to both local and foreign poets residing in Morocco under 30, the contest emphasizes the importance of nurturing artistic talent and supports young voices in the literary realm.
Encouraging Emerging Voices
The initiative seeks to motivate budding poets by providing a platform for them to showcase their creative expressions. The House of Poetry has allocated cash prizes amounting to 3,000 dirhams for each of the top three winners. Additionally, a collective anthology will be published, featuring selected works chosen by the jury within the “Radiant Poetic Expressions” series.
Participation Guidelines
Youth poets of all genders are invited to participate across various poetic forms, including classical Arabic poetry, vernacular, Amazigh, and Hassani styles. Each participant may submit only one original poem that has not previously won any other award, complying with established artistic standards in poetry writing.
Submission Requirements
Interested candidates must send their poem in Word format, accompanied by a CV, complete address, phone numbers, and email. Additionally, a signed and stamped declaration confirming the ownership of the piece and its lack of prior accolades is required, along with a copy of their national ID card and a recent photo. Incomplete submissions will not be considered.
