Youth Initiative “Ana Kayn” Encourages Voter Registration Among Young People

The youth wing of Morocco’s Authenticity and Modernity Party has unveiled a new initiative, “Ana Kayn,” aimed at encouraging citizen engagement and boosting voter registration ahead of upcoming elections. Launched during a recent executive meeting, the campaign seeks to address the alarming apathy among young voters and emphasize the significance of electoral participation.

Revitalizing Voter Participation

In a strategic effort to invigorate political involvement among the youth, the “Ana Kayn” initiative was announced on Tuesday, May 12, 2026. The meeting, held at the party’s headquarters on Avenue Allal Ben Abdellah, focused on organizational and communication strategies as well as a thorough assessment of the national political landscape concerning young people’s participation in public life.

This initiative responds to long-standing concerns over the low registration rates among younger demographics, particularly those aged 18 to 24. Prior to the last legislative elections, only 33.6% of this age group had registered, with overall voter turnout at approximately 50.86% during the September 2021 elections. These statistics underscore a pressing need for broader political engagement among Morocco’s youth.

A Multi-Faceted Approach

To combat this trend, the party has adopted a multi-faceted communication strategy aimed at highlighting the importance of electoral registration as the cornerstone of political participation. The executive committee has greenlit the launch of a concurrent digital campaign designed to motivate young people to register, complemented by on-the-ground activities that will assist potential voters with the registration process and provide necessary technical and communicative support.

During the meeting, regional coordinators were also consulted to formulate a practical plan for disseminating this initiative across various regions and provinces. A key component of this strategy will be increasing outreach to disengaged groups, encouraging their integration into the electoral process.

Mobilizing for a Democratic Future

The executive committee concluded its discussions by stressing the necessity for mobilizing party members to ensure the success of the “Ana Kayn” initiative. This campaign is seen not only as a means to bolster citizen participation but also as a vital step towards expanding engagement in Morocco’s democratic framework.

By reinvigorating youth interest in electoral processes, the party aims to lay the groundwork for a more robust political culture, one that actively encourages and supports the next generation of Moroccan citizens in shaping their democratic future.
