Monday’s Weather Forecast for Morocco

Monday’s Weather Forecast for Morocco
A A

Lead
As Morocco braces for varied weather patterns this Monday, the General Directorate of Meteorology forecasts dense low clouds and local fog, particularly in northern plains and southern regions. Residents should prepare for light scattered rain, while sporadic thunderstorms may develop in mountainous areas.

Unsettled Weather Ahead

The anticipated weather conditions will see dense clouds descend across the northern and central plains, along with parts of the southern regions. Visibility may diminish due to the potential presence of fog, especially during the morning and evening hours. In these areas, locals should stay alert for possible light rain.

Regional Insights

In the southeastern and eastern regions, clouds will linger over the High Atlas mountains, bringing occasional rainfall and isolated thunder. Moderate to strong winds are expected, contributing to localized dust storms in the central and southern provinces. This complex interaction of atmospheric elements indicates a challenging day for outdoor activities, particularly in areas prone to rapid weather changes.

Temperature Variations

Temperature readings will vary significantly across the country. In the mountainous provinces such as the High Atlas and Rif, nighttime lows will dip between 1 to 8 degrees Celsius. Meanwhile, the regions of Moulouya, northwest Morocco, the southeast, and the extreme southern territories can expect warmer temperatures ranging from 14 to 21 degrees Celsius. In the remaining parts of the kingdom, temperatures will fall within the 9 to 14-degree range.

Coastal Conditions

On the water, the Mediterranean and Strait of Gibraltar will experience relatively calm conditions, but further west, the coastline from Cape Spartel to Casablanca might face slight to moderate swells. In stark contrast, the seas between Essaouira and Tarfaya are expected to be rough, with stronger waves threatening the safety of smaller vessels.
