Heavy Rain, Fog, and Strong Winds: Saturday’s Weather Forecast for Morocco

Heavy Rain, Fog, and Strong Winds: Saturday’s Weather Forecast for Morocco
A A

Lead
On Saturday, Morocco’s National Meteorological Directorate forecasts relatively hot conditions in the southern desert regions, while the northwest will experience partly cloudy skies accompanied by scattered rain. These weather patterns signal significant climatic shifts as the country adjusts to seasonal changes.

Weather Overview
As the weekend unfolds, the Moroccan climate presents a mixed bag of weather. Regions south of the desert are expecting warmer temperatures, while the harsh northern areas will see clouds and intermittent rainfall. This variation illustrates the diverse climatic conditions that affect different parts of the country simultaneously.

Temperature Fluctuations
Overnight, low-lying areas in the Atlas Mountains and the Rif are predicted to experience temperatures ranging from -3 to 6 degrees Celsius. In contrast, southern and southeastern regions will enjoy milder conditions, with temperatures between 16 and 18 degrees Celsius. The rest of the kingdom will witness moderate temperatures between 10 and 16 degrees Celsius, indicating a sharp contrast across the nation.

Wind and Precipitation Patterns
As night approaches, low clouds and fog are expected to blanket the desert provinces and Sous Valley, providing a cool respite. Stronger winds will sweep through the northern Atlantic plains and desert areas, potentially carrying dust in localised pockets. This gusty weather could have implications for visibility and air quality in those regions.

Daytime Conditions and Sea State
During the day, temperatures in northern Morocco will dip slightly, while the desert provinces could see a modest uptick in warmth. The coastal waters along the Mediterranean and the Atlantic will be mostly calm, with only slight disturbances anticipated, making it a relatively stable environment for seafarers and beachgoers alike.
