The United States Imposes 100% Tariffs on Innovative Drugs
The United States has announced a 100% tariff on patented drugs and their components, reflecting its shift towards stricter trade policies.
According to a decision issued by the White House, these tariffs will be implemented gradually, coming into force within 120 days for major companies and 180 days for smaller firms.
In contrast, the U.S. government has set a reduced tariff rate of no more than 15% on drug imports from the European Union.
This move continues the United States’ stringent trade policies, despite recent court rulings declaring several tariffs imposed during Donald Trump’s presidency to be illegal in their current form.
