The Moroccan national team has retained its eighth position in the FIFA world rankings, leading in the Arab region with 1,755.87 points, following its first victory under new coach Mohamed Wahbi against Paraguay with a score of 2-1 in Lens, after a draw with Ecuador at 1-1.

France has topped the FIFA world rankings for the first time since winning the 2018 World Cup, thanks to victories in friendly matches against Brazil and Colombia, just weeks before the start of the World Cup in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

Coach Didier Deschamps’ team inflicted a significant loss on Brazil with a score of 2-1, and repeated the feat against Colombia, defeating them 3-1 on American soil.

France moved to the top of the rankings with 1,877.32 points, just one point ahead of Spain, the European champion, which settled for a goalless draw against Egypt on Tuesday after beating Serbia 3-0 the previous week.

Despite their strong performances, Kylian Mbappé and his teammates have not occupied the number one spot in the world rankings since September 2018 after winning their second World Cup title in Russia.

Argentina, led by star Lionel Messi, which recently triumphed over Zambia with a 5-0 scoreline in preparation for defending their title this summer, has slipped to third place with 1,874.81 points, trailing France by 2.5 points.
