Lead
Raja Casablanca triumphed decisively over Rabat’s Fath, claiming a 4-1 victory in a thrilling clash at the Mohammed V Stadium. This win, part of the 16th round of the Professional League, not only solidifies Raja’s position in the league but also elevates the intensity of the championship race.

Dominance from the Start

Raja entered the match with an aggressive strategy, immediately putting pressure on their opponents’ defense. Their efforts paid off in the 13th minute when Adam Nafati scored with a powerful shot that left goalkeeper Ayoub Lakrd helpless. This early advantage set the tone for the rest of the game.

A Commanding First Half

Before the halftime whistle, Senegalese striker Babou Ousmane Sakho doubled the lead in the 41st minute, ensuring the hosts went into the break with a comfortable 2-0 lead. Raja’s ability to capitalize on their opportunities was a clear indication of their superior form and tactical execution.

Second Half Surge

As the second half unfolded, Raja maintained their control, taking advantage of a disorganized Fath defense. In the 58th minute, a miscommunication led to an own goal from Haddifa Mahsani, extending Raja’s lead to three. Despite Fath’s attempt to fight back with a goal from Anas Serghat in the 64th minute, Raja swiftly responded, with Jordanian forward Mohammed Faisal Abu Zreik, known as “Sharaara,” scoring their fourth goal in the 77th minute.

Disciplinary Drama

In the closing moments, Fath’s struggles were compounded when player Chaib Faydi received a red card for a late challenge on Ismail Khafi, leaving his team to finish the match a man down.

Implications for the League

This emphatic victory brings Raja to 33 points, securing their place in second position and intensifying their pursuit of the league title. In contrast, Fath Rabat remains stagnant at 18 points, now sitting in eighth place—further highlighting the disparity in performance between the two teams.
