Public Support of 5.49 Million Dirhams for Film Festivals in Morocco

The Film Festivals Support Committee has announced the allocation of nearly 5.49 million dirhams to support various cinematic events across different regions of Morocco, as part of efforts to enhance cultural dynamism and encourage the national film industry.

This support aligns with a policy aimed at promoting the cinematic landscape by backing festivals and events that contribute to the promotion of film culture, providing spaces for screenings, discussions, and exchange of experiences among professionals.

Additionally, this initiative seeks to support cultural and linguistic diversity, stimulate artistic creativity, and enhance the visibility of Moroccan cities on both national and international levels by hosting cinematic activities that attract a wide audience and professionals from inside and outside Morocco.

Several festivals are expected to benefit from this financial envelope, based on specific criteria that take into account program quality, event sustainability, and its cultural and artistic impact, in addition to its capacity to contribute to the revival of the local economy.

This approach reaffirms the ongoing commitment to culture as a driver of development, especially concerning creative industries and their role in generating job opportunities and enhancing the appeal of the national landscape.
