Nador Prepares for a Groundbreaking Sports Event

Nador’s Marchica Lagoon Resort is gearing up for an event that could put the city on the global water sports map. The Marchica E-Foil Trophy is part of the official Surf Foil World Tour 2026, making it the third crucial stop for this innovative sport, following competitions in Düsseldorf, Germany, and Leucate, France. Participants can expect a thrilling blend of technological prowess and water skiing, which is rapidly gaining popularity.

Optimally Positioned for Success

The choice of Marchica Lagoon for this competition underscores the region’s unique natural and environmental attributes, making it an ideal location for E-Foil activities. Its strategic Mediterranean positioning offers proximity to Europe, providing an appealing destination for international athletes and spectators alike.

The event is a collaboration spearheaded by Marchica Lagoon Resort and E-foil Maroc, in partnership with the Global Flying Boards Association (GFA) and the Surf Foil World Tour. Notable institutional partners include the Moroccan Agency for the Development of the Marchica Lagoon, Marchica Med, the Moroccan National Tourist Office, and the Eastern Regional Tourism Council. The event is also supported by various international economic partners.

Exciting Competitive Structure and Parallel Festival

Over three days, competitors will face off in a series of heats and knockout rounds, culminating in direct elimination finals. A total prize pool of 100,000 dirhams will be awarded to winners across different categories. In addition to the competitive events, attendees can enjoy the Marchica Lagoon Watersports Festival, featuring a blend of sports activities and cultural entertainment, aimed at enriching the experience for visitors and locals alike.

A Pioneering Step for Africa

This international event marks a significant milestone for Africa, reflecting Morocco’s strategic push to diversify its sports and tourism offerings.
