The President of the African Football Confederation (CAF), Patrice Motsepe, stated that the Africa Cup of Nations (Morocco 2025) was the most successful edition in the history of the tournament by all measures, emphasizing that the achievements during this edition reflect the status that African football has gained on the international stage.

Motsepe explained, in a statement to the press upon his arrival this Thursday morning at Rabat-Salé Airport during his visit to Morocco, that this edition has achieved “unprecedented success on various levels, whether in terms of organization, visibility, or follow-up,” highlighting that Africa’s premier continental competition has once again demonstrated its “ability to rise to the level of major football events worldwide.”
