On Monday, the town of Tafraout unveiled a series of development projects overseen by Prime Minister Aziz Akhannouch, aimed at bolstering local healthcare, enhancing the economy, and improving living conditions for residents. In a bid to invigorate the local economy, plans were unveiled for a dedicated space to showcase and market traditional crafts and social economy products. This initiative seeks to enhance the visibility of regional products and bolster the area’s appeal for tourism, alongside the development of a dedicated marketplace for artisans.
Enhancing Infrastructure and Community Facilities
The visit also highlighted plans for constructing a weekly market and a livestock market covering over 16,000 square meters. This project is expected to create significant employment opportunities and ease the logistical burdens on professionals who previously had to travel to nearby cities to sell their goods. Furthermore, the government is moving forward with a modern slaughterhouse project aimed at improving health safety standards and reducing waste in the meat distribution chain.
Additionally, the developmental agenda includes urban and social projects such as upgrading under-equipped neighborhoods, creating green spaces and recreational facilities for children, and building accommodations for students. Plans also feature community sports facilities, including an artificial turf soccer field and multipurpose venues.
