Union of Yaqub Al-Mansour Protests Refereeing and VAR Malfunction in Match Against Al-Fath, Demands Investigation

The Union of Yaqub Al-Mansour issued a strongly worded statement protesting the outcome of the match against Al-Fath Sports Club, expressing its rejection of what it described as persistent refereeing errors and an unjustified malfunction of the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) system.

The club’s management highlighted that the recent match experienced an “unacceptable” situation where the VAR technology was halted for nearly 35 minutes during the game, indicating that this technical glitch directly impacted the proceedings of the match and raised numerous questions about how that period was managed by the officiating team.

The club affirmed that what occurred cannot be regarded as mere ordinary mistakes typical of the game, noting that the team has suffered from officiating decisions that have influenced its results since the start of this season’s professional league competition.

The Union of Yaqub Al-Mansour called on the responsible authorities managing football officiating in the country to conduct an urgent and thorough investigation to determine the reasons behind the technical failure, as well as to review the refereeing decisions that the team deems unjust.

The club also urged both the National Directorate of Referees and the National Professional Football League, along with the Royal Moroccan Football Federation, to intervene to ensure respect for the principle of equal opportunities and protect the integrity of competition.

The statement revealed that the club’s management is preparing a file containing various officiating cases that it considers unfair since the beginning of the season, in anticipation of presenting it to the relevant authorities, as well as organizing a press conference to inform the national and international public about what it described as “refereeing violations.”

In conclusion, the club emphasized its commitment to defending its rights through available legal channels, affirming its intention to continue competing by all legitimate means to maintain its position in the top division.
