NATO Increases Readiness of Missile Defense Systems Following Iranian Attack on Turkey

NATO has announced its intention to raise the readiness level of its ballistic defense systems following an Iranian missile attack on Turkish territory, according to a spokesperson from the alliance’s military command in Mons.

The source explained that the NATO Air Command leader made the decision to elevate readiness, with a recommendation to maintain maximum alert until the threat posed by Iranian missile attacks in the region is eliminated.

The spokesperson noted that this action was taken immediately after the attack was detected, and it was subsequently decided to keep the defense systems at the highest level of readiness in anticipation of any potential developments.

Additionally, the alliance’s forces had already begun activating their ballistic missile defense procedures since Wednesday, as NATO’s surveillance systems successfully identified the ballistic missile and its trajectory in under ten minutes.

According to the same source, NATO units activated missile defense systems stationed both on land and at sea, as part of an interception drill aimed at countering any potential threats and ensuring the protection of member states’ airspace.
