The Moroccan player Naif Akrd shared a reassuring message after successfully undergoing surgery, having been suffering from groin pain for some time.
In the message he posted on his official account on the social media platform X, accompanied by a photo of himself post-surgery, Akrd stated: “Since October, I have been suffering from pain that became part of my daily life from the moment I woke up until bedtime, and sometimes even at night; this pain was constant.”
He added, “Despite all the medical protocols that were followed over the past months, they unfortunately became insufficient, making surgical intervention unavoidable.”
Akrd also expressed his gratitude to Dr. Gilles Ripoll, who performed the surgery, as well as to Dr. Christophe Bodo, the national team doctor, for his careful follow-up. He thanked the medical staff of Olympique Marseille for their support from start to finish.
He confirmed that he would be ready to assist Olympique Marseille during the crucial phase at the end of the season, this time at 100 percent and without pain, while not commenting on his participation with the Moroccan national team, especially with the Atlas Lions just weeks away from the 2026 World Cup.
