Rachid Talbi El Alami Discusses Food and Water Security Cooperation with Finnish Minister of Agriculture
The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rachid Talbi El Alami, received the Minister of Agriculture and Forestry of Finland, Sari Essayah, in Rabat on Wednesday. The visit, which extends from March 24 to 27, served as an opportunity to explore ways to enhance bilateral cooperation, particularly in the areas of agriculture, food security, and water management.
Discussions between the two sides focused on Morocco’s significant reform initiatives, especially in sectors related to agriculture, fishing, and water resource management. They also reviewed prospects for strengthening the partnership between Rabat and Helsinki, both bilaterally and within multilateral frameworks.
During the meeting, Talbi El Alami highlighted key aspects of the Moroccan parliamentary experience, emphasizing the legislative body’s roles in enacting laws, overseeing government actions, and assessing public policies. He also pointed out the dynamic cooperation with the Finnish Parliament based on the exchange of expertise and ongoing coordination.
The meeting was attended by the Finnish Ambassador to Rabat, Marianna Sall, along with several officials and representatives from both sides, aimed at reinforcing dialogue and consultation channels between the legislative bodies of the two countries.
