The political bureau of the National Rally of Independents congratulated the election of Mohamed Chouki and renewed its leadership structures following the conference in El Jadida.
Immediately after concluding the extraordinary national conference, the political bureau of the National Rally of Independents held its first meeting on Saturday evening, February 7, 2026, in El Jadida, chaired by the party’s new president, Mohamed Chouki. This meeting was described as a pivotal organizational moment for the party.
The meeting focused on evaluating the outcomes of the conference and discussing internal organizational issues. Members of the political bureau expressed their congratulations to Mohamed Chouki for the trust placed in him by both delegates and attendees, emphasizing that his election reflects a collective will to build on the achievements of past years.
Conversely, the attendees reflected on the results of the previous phase, commending the leadership path taken by Aziz Akhannouch, which was accompanied by a strengthening of organizational cohesion and the solidification of the party’s presence in the political landscape. They noted the adoption of pragmatic choices while ensuring attentiveness to the concerns of citizens and interacting with them.
The political bureau considered the extraordinary national conference as a mature organizational moment that embodied the culture of democratic transition in leadership and highlighted the party’s ability to manage its internal transitions smoothly and responsibly within a stable institutional framework.
Looking ahead, the meeting underscored the importance of valuing the achievements accumulated by the party since its sixth national conference, using them as a foundation for a new launch under the slogan “Path to the Future.” This slogan encompasses challenges related to strengthening proximity to citizens, renewing the party’s offerings, and continuing involvement in the project of building the Morocco of the future.
At the organizational level, the political bureau announced, in accordance with the provisions of its statutory framework, the appointment of Younes Abchir as the Central Director of the headquarters, along with the appointment of Hassan Filali as the treasurer and Mohamed Chafik Benkirane as his deputy, as part of the reorganization of the party’s leadership structures.
This meeting marks the beginning of a new phase within the National Rally of Independents, characterized by continuity alongside renewal and the establishment of a logic of organized transition within the party institution.
