The Moroccan Embassy in Mexico has activated an emergency plan to protect the Moroccan community following heightened security tensions in certain areas, triggered by the killing of a leader of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel, which subsequently led to a security breakdown.
In this context, the embassy has set up a monitoring unit to maintain direct communication with Moroccan citizens through the embassy’s email and mobile phone number, to ensure their safety and provide necessary guidance according to the developments of the situation.
The embassy has also reached out to all registered Moroccan citizens and urged them to exercise the utmost caution, avoid crowded areas or locations experiencing disturbances, adhere to the instructions of local authorities, and maintain communication channels with the embassy to report any emergencies or request assistance 24 hours a day through the mobile numbers 5561693849 and landlines 5552451790 – 5552451786, or via email.
The embassy confirmed that it is continuously monitoring the security situation in Mexico and will keep citizens informed of any updates or additional information when necessary, prioritizing their safety.
