Growth in Phosphate Production and Exports Strengthens Mining Sector Performance in 2025

The General Directorate of Studies and Financial Forecasts reported that the mining sector continued its positive momentum throughout 2025, with a 7.5% increase in raw phosphate production, a key component of the sector’s activity.

In its latest economic note, the directorate indicated that phosphate derivatives production rose by 5.2%, following a growth of 20.4% the previous year.

Regarding phosphate exports and derivatives, their value surpassed 99.8 billion dirhams in 2025, marking a 14.6% increase, after a rise of 13.5% the year before.

This growth is attributed to an increase in sales of phosphate derivatives abroad (up 14.3%, after an increase of 13.9%) and raw phosphate (up 17.3%, after an increase of 10.6%).

As for shipments of other extracted minerals, their value improved by 1.3% in 2025.
