Significant Growth in Investment Dynamics: Over 109,000 Businesses Established in Morocco by 2025

Significant Growth in Investment Dynamics: Over 109,000 New Companies Established in Morocco in 2025

Recent data from the Moroccan Office of Industrial and Commercial Property indicates that the number of new companies established in Morocco reached a total of 109,644 in 2025, reflecting a 14.6% increase compared to 2024. This growth showcases the continued vibrancy of the national economic landscape.

The institution’s report, published on its official website, revealed that companies or legal entities accounted for the largest share, with over 78,000 companies, marking a 15.9% annual increase.

Additionally, the data highlighted the ongoing dominance of single-member limited liability companies as the most frequently adopted legal structure, representing 64.7%, followed by limited liability companies at 34.3%.

In contrast, the number of individual enterprises linked to natural persons reached 31,029 during the same period.

Geographically, the Tanger-Tetouan-Al Hoceima region emerged as the leading area for company establishments, capturing 21.5% of the total, followed by the Eastern region at 11.7%, and Casablanca-Settat at 11.1%. This was followed by Rabat-Salé-Kénitra at 9.7%, Fès-Meknès and Souss-Massa each at 8.7%, then Marrakech-Safi at 7.8%, and Laayoune-Sakia El Hamra at 6.9%.

Regarding trademarks, the number of applications filed reached 32,091, reflecting an increase of 1.6% compared to 2024 and 15.5% compared to 2023. Moroccan-origin applications constituted 68% of total filings, registering an annual growth of 2%, indicating an increasing presence of national brands.

Sectorally, the chemical industry, particularly in health products and cleaning supplies, topped the list of most active fields with 21% of total filings, followed by advertising services and business management at 17%, and pharmaceutical products at 15%.

In the field of patents, the office received 2,983 applications in 2025, compared to 2,926 in 2024, representing a 2% increase, while Moroccan-origin applications saw a remarkable growth of 34%.

Pharmaceutical products dominated the technological fields with 23%, followed by biotechnology at 11%, and fine organic chemistry at 9%.
