Bensouda Hands Over Management of the General Treasury to Abdel Latif El Omrani

Nadia Fettah, the Minister of Economy and Finance, chaired the handover ceremony yesterday, Thursday, at the headquarters of the General Treasury of the Kingdom. The event marked the transition of management from Nour Eddine Bensouda to Abdel Latif El Omrani, the Director General of Customs and Indirect Taxes, who will oversee the General Treasury during this transitional phase.

In a statement on the ministry’s official Facebook page, the minister emphasized her appreciation for the outgoing president, Nour Eddine Bensouda, acknowledging his significant contributions to the state throughout his career within the ministry, especially as head of both the General Directorate of Taxes and the General Treasury of the Kingdom.

Fettah highlighted Bensouda’s notable contributions to modernizing Morocco’s tax system and successfully implementing major reforms in public finance. This includes his pivotal role in the implementation of the organic budget law, establishing the state’s accounting system, reforming the public procurement system, and simplifying and digitizing procedures. She also extended her gratitude to all the General Treasury staff who supported these initiatives with dedication and responsibility.

In closing her remarks, the minister wished success to El Omrani, pointing out his extensive experience and precise knowledge of financial administration, which qualifies him to manage the transitional phase under the best conditions.

The handover ceremony was attended by general directors and ministry managers, as well as officials from the General Treasury of the Kingdom.
