His Majesty King Mohammed VI hosted an official luncheon today in the capital, Rabat, in honor of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Senegal, Mr. Ousmane Sonko, and his accompanying delegation. The event was chaired by the Head of Government, Mr. Aziz Akhannouch.

The luncheon was attended by several Senegalese officials, including the Minister of African Integration, Foreign Affairs, and Senegalese Abroad, Mr. Cheikh Niang, and the Ambassador of the Republic of Senegal to the Kingdom of Morocco, Ms. Sinabo Dial. Members of the official delegation accompanying the Senegalese Prime Minister were also present.

The meeting was attended by the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mr. Rachid Talbi Alami, the President of the House of Councillors, Mr. Mohamed Wali Al-Rachid, the King’s Advisor, Mr. Omar Kabaj, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccans Abroad, Mr. Nasser Bourita, along with the Moroccan Ambassador to the Republic of Senegal, Mr. Hassan Nasiri.

This royal reception comes in the context of the ongoing dynamism in Moroccan-Senegalese relations. Earlier today, Head of Government Mr. Aziz Akhannouch and Senegalese Prime Minister Mr. Ousmane Sonko co-chaired the proceedings of the fifteenth session of the Moroccan-Senegalese Joint High Commission, which culminated in the adoption of a joint statement and the signing of several cooperation agreements, memoranda of understanding, and protocols that reflect the robustness of bilateral relations and their potential for development.
