Abdelatif Hammouchi, the Director General of National Security and Territorial Surveillance, conducted a field visit today, Sunday, January 18, to the Prince Moulay Abdellah Sports Complex in Rabat. This visit aimed to assess the security readiness for the organization of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations final match, which pits the Moroccan national team against Senegal.

During his visit, Hammouchi, accompanied by a high-ranking security delegation, reviewed the details of the security protocol established for this crucial continental encounter. This included plans for crowd movement on the roads leading to the stadium, as well as inspection and control areas at the gates, culminating in the interior of the complex, all designed to combine stringent security measures with smooth access and rapid response.

He received detailed explanations about the advanced security system’s capabilities, particularly regarding the integration of human resources and modern techniques. This includes the use of fixed surveillance cameras and drones, along with the implementation of artificial intelligence applications to manage traffic and proactively detect suspicious behaviors.

In this context, Hammouchi also outlined the security and safety plan for after the match, considering various potential scenarios related to the final’s outcome. He emphasized the importance of securing crowd flows in public spaces and ensuring the safety of individuals, property, and sports facilities.

This visit served as an opportunity for the Director General to express his deep appreciation for the high professionalism and responsible engagement of all police officers nationwide in effectively implementing the security and safety protocols that accompanied various phases of the Morocco 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.

Additionally, he praised the ongoing efforts of all public forces units that effectively contributed to securing this major continental event, enhancing Morocco’s profile both regionally and internationally, and showcasing the Moroccan security model for ensuring the safety of major sporting events. He wished everyone continued success in serving the country’s security and stability under the wise leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist Him.
