Naima Ben Yahya Calls for Responsible Media Discourse to Enhance Family Cohesion in the Digital Age

The Minister of Solidarity, Social Integration, and Family, Naima Ben Yahya, emphasized the importance of developing a responsible and balanced media discourse that reflects the unique characteristics of Moroccan society and contributes to strengthening family cohesion amid rapid digital transformations.

During the opening of a national seminar on the theme “Media and the Transformation of Family Values in the Digital Age,” Ben Yahya stressed that this discourse must reinforce core family values and position them as a driver for development and a means to achieve family stability. She explained that achieving this goal requires not only policies and programs but also the creation of a conducive cultural and media environment, focusing on the role of universities in developing knowledge related to priority social issues, particularly those concerning families.

The minister added that investing in media quality and ethical practices enhances development and social stability, strengthening families’ resilience against challenges, noting that addressing family issues through media and digitally has a direct impact on youth.

The seminar also highlighted the importance of collaboration between universities and media stakeholders to develop a balanced media discourse that contributes to protecting families and reinforcing their values within the context of digitization and the social and cultural transformations taking place in Morocco.
