Amour Clarifies the Process for Changing the Specialty Category of Tour Guides

The Ministry of Tourism, Social Economy, and Solidarity is drafting a regulatory decision that will allow tour guides to change their specialty category from nature space guides to urban and tourist circuit guides, as revealed by Minister Fatima Zahra Amour.

In a written response to a parliamentary question regarding “Equity for Nature Space Guides,” Amour explained that following the issuance of Decree No. 2.21.1058, which outlines the procedures for changing specialty categories, the ministry, in consultation with professionals, has begun preparing a decision to activate this procedure.

The minister emphasized, in response to a question from parliamentary advisor Khalid Setti of the National Union of Labor in Morocco, that this initiative takes into account the rights of tour guides and aims to balance guidance in both natural spaces and urban tourist circuits.

She reiterated that the ministry pays particular attention to tour guides, considering them a vital link between tourists and the tourism product, highlighting their essential role in valuing the national natural and cultural heritage and contributing to the success of the tourism experience for visitors to Morocco.
