Akhnoch at the Ordinary Session of the National Council of the RNI: 2025 is the Year of Achievements and Morocco is Progressing Steadily in Its Development Path

Rabat – Osar Ahmed

The ordinary session of the National Council of the National Rally of Independents (RNI) was held today, Saturday, January 10, 2026, at the party’s headquarters in the capital, Rabat. The event was described by the party’s president, Aziz Akhnoch, as a “significant” milestone in the political and organizational path of the party.

In his opening speech, Akhnoch began by congratulating the Moroccan national team on its qualification to the semi-finals of the Africa Cup, expressing pride in what the “Atlas Lions” have achieved. He also thanked the party’s members and national council members for their continued support in strengthening the party’s foundation.

The president of the RNI asserted that this session is a practical confirmation of deep-rooted convictions, emphasizing that the “RNI school” has become active and influential in political action. He regarded this as the fruit of years of fieldwork and advocacy by the party’s members across various regions of the kingdom.

Akhnoch explained that this organizational meeting comes in a specific national context, coinciding with Morocco progressing through an advanced stage of its development journey, guided by the model led by His Majesty King Mohammed VI. He noted the party’s commitment to organizing this meeting at the beginning of January, aligning it with the anniversary of Independence Day and the royal decision to establish the Amazigh year as a national holiday.

Regarding the organization of the Africa Cup 2025, Akhnoch considered Morocco’s success in this endeavor a validation of the choice of a new generation for a comprehensive development trajectory. He stressed that this continental event will contribute to enhancing the national economy and developing infrastructure and logistics.

The party leader emphasized that development is not merely isolated government decisions, but represents “a culture of citizenship and collective commitment.” He highlighted that the current government term has focused on placing people at the center of public policies within a renewed framework for development under a major national project.

In this context, Akhnoch announced that the government is moving forward in consolidating economic recovery by achieving investment levels nearing 380 billion dirhams this year, viewing this as a firm government decision reflecting a commitment to priorities as practical choices rather than mere temporary slogans.

The Prime Minister outlined several economic indicators, including an unprecedented reduction in the budget deficit, a gradual decrease in debt levels, and an increase in foreign investment to 45 billion dirhams. He also highlighted improvements in water resources, pointing to the rising levels of reservoirs to 45 percent due to recent rainfall and reaffirming the continuation of water sustainability projects.

On the social front, Akhnoch noted that over 11 million Moroccans have benefited from social protection services through the “Amo Tasdii” system, which covers their contributions. Additionally, four million non-salaried workers have benefited, and a comprehensive mandatory health insurance system has been established. He mentioned the launch of the royal program for direct social support, targeting 3.8 million families comprising about 12 million individuals. Furthermore, 390,000 widows, 78 percent of whom have no children, have received direct financial support for orphans amounting to 500 dirhams.

In the health sector, the party leader confirmed the expansion of the national and regional hospital network and its equipment, as well as the rehabilitation of 1,400 primary health centers across various regions of the kingdom.

Akhnoch praised the level of maturity reached by the coalition government’s parties, asserting that this cohesion will allow the government to continue serving citizens until the last day of its term. He added that the presence of the RNI in the political scene “no longer requires justification,” as citizens, in his words, “want this party in cities and villages.”

Regarding the political record, Akhnoch stated that 2025 could be termed “the Year of Achievements,” emphasizing that the organizational tours conducted by the party across various regions were not to showcase strength, but in response to the royal call for parties to communicate with citizens and explain major initiatives. He acknowledged that this path “has angered some political entities harmed by the narrowing of narrow interest margins.”

The president of the National Rally of Independents concluded his speech by reaffirming the party’s adherence to its identity and values, notably the ethics of political work and respect for the will of the Moroccan people. He urged citizens to intensively head to the polls and actively participate in building “a strong and advanced Morocco,” within the constants of the nation and loyalty to the throne.
