Subsidy expenditures decreased by 32.2% in 2025, settling at 16.62 billion dirhams, according to data from the State Treasury.

The Treasury noted in its monthly statistical report on public finances for December 2025 that these expenditures represent a completion rate of 97% of the total forecasts set in the 2025 finance law.

Operational expenses recorded an increase, reaching 328.4 billion dirhams, including 179.7 billion dirhams allocated for salaries and wages, reflecting a 9.2% increase compared to the previous year.

Equipment expenditures rose by 14% to reach 80.1 billion dirhams, while expenses related to shared costs increased by 15.8%, stabilizing at 50.3 billion dirhams.

The Treasury indicated that the share of the general budget from exemptions, tax discounts, and refundable amounts registered a 12.3% increase, primarily due to the rise in amounts refunded from domestic value-added tax, exceeding 13.9 billion dirhams, along with refunds from corporate tax, which reached 3.42 billion dirhams.
