The Moroccan Royal Boxing Federation officially announced today, December 12, that it has received its membership in the World Boxing International Federation after receiving an accreditation letter via email.
This membership comes after the federation submitted its application last March. However, the decision was delayed due to the committee’s commitments to prepare for the recent world conference held in November, which resulted in the election of former professional boxing champion Gennady Golovkin, of Uzbek origin, as the president of the federation recognized by the International Olympic Committee.
This addition marks a new milestone in establishing Morocco’s position in the international boxing scene, especially following the achievements of national athletes in various competitions, including the gold medal won by Widad Bartal and the bronze medal by Hasna Larti at the Nish Championship in Serbia in 2025.
The federation is preparing to participate in the World Boxing competition calendar in the upcoming period, which includes notable events such as the “Future Cup for Youth U19” in March 2026, the World Cup in Brazil in April 2026, then in China in June of the same year, as well as the Youth World Championship between July and August, concluding the season with the World Cup finals in Uzbekistan in November 2026.
In its statement, the federation confirmed its commitment to continue working to enhance the presence of national boxing on the international stage and to support Moroccan champions in achieving better results and raising the flag of Morocco in various competitions.
