The Ministry of Transport Urges Caution Due to Anticipated Weather Disruptions

The Ministry of Transport Urges Caution Due to Anticipated Weather Disruptions
A A

The Ministry of Transport and Logistics has urged public transport professionals, freight carriers, and school transport services, along with all road users, to exercise the utmost caution in light of the weather warning for December 16 and 17.

In a statement, the ministry indicated that the alert predicts intense and occasionally thunderstorms, as well as significant snowfall and strong winds, necessitating strict adherence to traffic regulations during travel.

The ministry recommended postponing non-essential trips and called on road users, particularly drivers of public transport buses, freight trucks, and school transport vehicles, to be more vigilant. They emphasized the importance of monitoring weather developments before and during travel and to check road conditions in advance.

The ministry reiterated that these weather conditions could significantly increase the risks of traffic accidents, making it imperative to abide by road safety rules. This includes ensuring the technical safety of vehicles, adjusting speed according to weather and road conditions, maintaining safe distances, avoiding sudden maneuvers and overtaking, and being cautious during periods of low visibility or while traveling on wet or snow-covered roads.

Additionally, the ministry stressed the necessity of exercising extreme caution when crossing bridges and sensitive road sections, adhering to road signage and the instructions of relevant authorities, and paying special attention to more vulnerable groups, including pedestrians and cyclists. It also advised refraining from crossing swollen streams and waterways.

In conclusion, the Ministry of Transport and Logistics renewed its call for all to act responsibly to ensure the safety of travel and the protection of lives on the country’s roads.
