The Ministry of the Interior Launches Procedures for the Annual Review of the General and Professional Electoral Rolls for 2026
A A

The Ministry of Interior has announced the launch of the annual review process for the electoral lists pertaining to professional chambers and general electoral lists for the year 2026. It has called on professionals and citizens to promptly submit their registration or transfer requests within the established legal deadlines.

Starting Monday, December 1, 2025, the period for submitting applications for registration in the electoral lists specific to the professional chambers will run until Wednesday, December 31, 2025. This process involves professionals working in the agricultural chambers, chambers of commerce, industry, and services, artisanal chambers, as well as fishing chambers, who are at least 18 years old or will reach this age by March 31, 2026, and are not currently registered in the professional lists despite meeting the legal requirements.

The ministry urged the concerned parties to submit their registration requests at the local administrative authority offices where they practice their profession. It also reminded previous registrants wishing to transfer their registration from one professional category to another, from one electoral body to another, or from one electoral district to another, to do so before the end of December at the relevant local authorities.

Regarding the annual review of the general electoral lists for 2026, the Minister of Interior confirmed that the registration will remain open until December 31, 2025. Citizens who are not registered and who are at least 18 years old or will be by March 31, 2026, can submit their applications either through local administrative authority offices where they reside or directly through the official website: www.listeselectorales.ma.

Additionally, the ministry called upon voters who have changed their place of residence outside the municipality or district they are registered in to submit transfer requests to the new municipality or district within the same timeframe. Those who have moved within the same municipality or district should notify local authorities to update their addresses in the electoral list.

In parallel, the Ministry of Interior has provided a way for each voter to verify their information on the electoral lists, either with local authorities or by sending an SMS to the toll-free number 2727.

This initiative is part of the technical and organizational preparations to ensure transparency in the upcoming electoral process and to expand participation by encouraging citizens and professionals to register and maintain accurate and up-to-date electoral information.
