The House of Representatives signs an agreement to join the national portal for the right to access information.
Mr. Rachid Talbi Alami, President of the House of Representatives, chaired today, Tuesday, a ceremony at the council’s headquarters in Rabat to sign a partnership agreement with the Committee for the Right to Access Information, which enables the council to officially join the national portal for the right to access information.
This step culminates years of efforts by the House of Representatives to promote transparency and openness, as the council, being an active member of the “Open Parliament” initiative, seeks to bring parliamentary work closer to citizens and enhance trust with them. Through its proactive publication of vast amounts of parliamentary information and data, the council sets a model for open democratic practice.
The agreement aims to digitize the process of obtaining information, allowing Moroccan citizens and legally residing foreigners to submit their requests and track them electronically via the digital platform, in line with the provisions of Law No. 31.13 regarding the right to access information.
The agreement stipulates that the House of Representatives will share links to previously published information and open data, appoint individuals responsible for receiving requests and processing complaints via the national portal, ensuring follow-up and response. Meanwhile, the Committee for the Right to Access Information commits to supporting the council’s integration into the digital platform and organizing training and awareness-raising sessions for those tasked with these responsibilities.
This integration reflects the House of Representatives’ commitment to continuously enhancing transparency and facilitating citizens’ access to information, thereby contributing to the establishment of a culture of open and responsible democracy.
