Important: Widespread weather disturbances are sweeping across Morocco starting Friday.
The National Meteorological Directorate has announced that Morocco will experience significant weather disturbances beginning tomorrow, Friday, due to the approach of an active low-pressure system accompanied by cold air masses. This will lead to significant rainfall and snowfall, along with strong winds affecting various regions of the country.
Snow is expected to cover the Atlas Mountains and the eastern high plains, starting from 1,400 meters in elevation, with intensity increasing on Saturday, accompanied by a noticeable drop in temperatures. Meanwhile, the northern and central coastal areas, southeast, and northern southern regions will see scattered rainfall that may be moderate to heavy in some localities, especially along the Atlantic coasts and highlands.
The Atlantic coast and the Mediterranean coastline will experience strong winds and high waves, which may affect maritime navigation, particularly on Saturday.
According to forecasts, cold weather conditions will persist from Sunday to Tuesday, with the possibility of frost forming overnight and in the mornings in higher elevations and plateaus, while sporadic rain remains likely in the north, center, and southeast regions.
The Directorate has urged all citizens to exercise caution while traveling, especially in mountainous areas, and to follow official weather reports to ensure their safety amid these harsh weather conditions.
