As we bid farewell to the final hours of 2025, we do not merely see it as the end of a calendar year, but as a pivotal moment in the journey of a nation that knows how to navigate challenges when they intensify, turning trials into sources of strength.
I state this with confidence and gratitude: I am proud to have been born on this land, in a homeland that has once again proven that cohesion is not just a slogan but a daily practice.
In these moments of closing a year, it is only fair to pause and reflect on the state’s choices and the leadership that has charted its direction. Throughout 2025, King Mohammed VI has guided a path based on foresight and calm deliberation, steering clear of reactive logic or succumbing to provocation. Had it not been for this approach, Morocco would not today stand in a position of strength and resilience amid a tumultuous regional and international backdrop.
The year 2025 was undoubtedly a year of tests.
Morocco’s adversaries, both domestic and foreign, sought to exploit social, economic, and human rights issues, pushing the country toward a climate of tension and uncertainty. However, the result was the exact opposite. The state opted for containment rather than escalation, institutional management rather than chaos, and rationality rather than emotional reactions. Crises were not allowed to fester, and a heavy hand was not employed where rational thought sufficed.
On the diplomatic front, the UN Security Council’s vote regarding the Sahara issue reaffirmed a consistent reality: Morocco is moving steadily within the framework of international legitimacy, while its adversaries accumulate rhetoric rather than tangible gains. The decision was not surprising, yet it was significant, indicating that the feasible political path is the only viable one and that the Moroccan proposal remains the serious and credible framework. Moreover, Moroccan diplomacy has not found itself on the defensive but rather in a position to manage international time to its advantage.
Internally, the royal speech during the opening of the legislative session conveyed precise political messages. The speech was clear, without embellishments, calling for early preparations for the impending electoral milestones and placing full responsibility on political actors, reminding them that trust cannot be restored through slogans but by legal frameworks and clear choices. In this context, Abdelouafi Laftit was tasked with overseeing the legal and regulatory framework of the electoral process, sending a message that stability is a matter of meticulous engineering, leaving no room for improvisation.
2025 was a year of achievements and victories, but it was not devoid of attempts to disrupt.
Dissonant voices here and there sought to shake the people’s confidence in their homeland, spreading doubt through lies and defamation. However, these voices miscalculated. The men of this nation did not miss the mark. Schemes were thwarted, the voices of domestic agents were muted, and the bets of those who thought the state could be surprised or unsettled fell flat.
If every year has its figures, it is challenging to discuss 2025 without mentioning Abdelatif Hammouchi. This mention is not for the sake of glorification but for description. A man who works quietly, with an eye that never sleeps, leading a security system that understands that modern security relies not on reaction but on foresight and trust-building.
Hammouchi’s leadership has been marked by rigor when circumstances demand it and pragmatism when balance is essential. It is a leadership anchored in profound strategic vision, contributing to the establishment of a modern security system capable of confronting terrorism and organized crime, while adhering strictly to the law and safeguarding rights. This journey has been recognized nationally, regionally, and internationally, enhancing the stature of Moroccan security institutions.
In addition to field successes, there has been a clear commitment to modernizing the security institution, improving its human resources, and building a trusting relationship with citizens, transforming security from a coercive concept into a public service grounded in proximity and responsibility.
In conclusion, Abdelatif Hammouchi stands out as a statesman with a clear professional trajectory, unwavering dedication, and a leadership approach that prioritizes the country’s security and the dignity of its citizens without compromise.
Thus, we close the chapter on 2025 with confidence in the state, pride in its institutions, and assurance that this homeland is safeguarded by men who understand the meaning of duty and fulfill it in silence.
