Clala Saraghna: The Regional Governor Inspects Religious and Heritage Sites in Sidi Rahal

In the context of ongoing field monitoring of developmental projects and enhancing infrastructure in various communities of the region, Mr. Samir El Yazidi, the representative of His Majesty the King in the Clala Saraghna region, conducted a site visit to Sidi Rahal on Friday, December 5, 2025. The visit included several locations of religious, historical, and social significance.

Mr. El Yazidi began the visit at the Anmay area, where he reviewed the state of the tomb of Jacob Ben Yamas, a site linked to Moroccan Jewish heritage, and visited the nearby Jewish cemetery along the Ghadat River. Explanations were provided to him regarding the historical value and spiritual significance of these sites, representing a part of Morocco’s rich cultural memory.

The visit continued with an assessment of the ancient Quranic school near the Mosque of Al-Fath, one of the spiritual centers that has served for decades as a space for traditional education and the transmission of religious knowledge. The governor was briefed on its urgent needs for restoration and modernization, emphasizing the necessity of rehabilitating it in a way that aligns with its historical character, enabling it to fulfill its educational mission in better conditions.

The governor also inspected the Moulay Hassan Park, which requires urgent interventions for the rehabilitation of its facilities and enhancement of its spaces, aligning with efforts to improve the quality of life and strengthen recreational areas for both residents and visitors. Mr. El Yazidi issued directives to the relevant departments to schedule necessary interventions as soon as possible.

At the end of the visit, the regional governor examined the bridge built over the Masin River along Regional Road No. 210, noting its support for road infrastructure in the community and facilitating movement between various neighborhoods and surrounding areas, thereby contributing to the region’s economic and social dynamism.

This visit comes as part of the local authorities’ policy of proximity, actively engaging with ongoing projects and addressing the needs of local communities to ensure sustainable local development that meets the aspirations of the population and enhances the cultural and heritage dimensions in the development process.
