44 million dirhams to complete 190 projects in Moulay Yacoub

Approximately 44.7 million dirhams have been allocated in the Moulay Yacoub region to execute 190 projects during 2024 and 2025, as part of the third phase of the National Initiative for Human Development.

Data presented during the third ordinary session of the regional committee for human development for the year 2025, chaired by the head of the Moulay Yacoub region, Mohamed Smir El Khamlichi, indicated that the National Initiative for Human Development’s contribution to financing these projects, which will benefit around 39,532 individuals, amounts to 43.78 million dirhams.

So far, according to data provided by Ahmed Mqarini, head of the social action department in the Moulay Yacoub region, a total of 104 projects have been completed, while 78 are currently under implementation, and 8 projects are in the bidding stage.

These projects include 20 aimed at addressing shortages in infrastructure and basic services in less developed areas, and 39 projects under a program to support individuals in vulnerable situations.

Additionally, there are 96 projects related to the program for improving income and the economic integration of youth, and 35 projects focused on enhancing human capital for emerging generations.

The meeting also approved an action plan for supporting early childhood education in 2026, which includes the establishment of four early childhood education units in the Ain Chkaf municipality at a total cost of approximately 1.08 million dirhams, benefiting a total of 185 students.

In his speech on the occasion, Mohamed Smir El Khamlichi emphasized that this meeting aligns with ongoing efforts to implement the programs of the National Initiative for Human Development in the Moulay Yacoub region, embodying the visionary perspective of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, who has made this royal project a strategic choice and a fundamental lever for establishing social and spatial justice.

El Khamlichi added that the Moulay Yacoub region has witnessed a total of 646 projects and operations programmed from 2019 to 2025, with a total cost approaching 246.8 million dirhams, distributed across the four programs of the third phase of the initiative.

The local official noted that the efforts of the National Initiative for Human Development have contributed to improving maternal and child health, generalizing early childhood education, supporting schooling in rural areas, and encouraging income-generating initiatives, thereby enhancing social and economic integration for target groups, which supports the foundations of balanced regional development and reinforces social justice.

This meeting also included outlining the implementation framework for the agreement aimed at enhancing educational support services in rural areas, based on principles of integrated planning, management approaches, governance, and targeting beneficiaries, as well as mobilizing funding mechanisms.

Committee members also approved the cancellation of several projects and operations planned for 2022, 2023, 2024, and 2025 for various reasons.
