Tetouan: Arrest of an ISIS Supporter in a Preventive Operation Targeting National Security
This morning in Tetouan, the General Directorate of National Territorial Surveillance managed to arrest a young man suspected of allegiance to the terrorist organization ISIS. This came after close monitoring of his suspicious activities online.
Security sources indicated that the suspect was in advanced stages of planning a sabotage project aimed at targeting institutions and vital facilities within the kingdom, following his declaration of loyalty to the so-called “Emir” of the organization, and his preparations for actions threatening the security and stability of the country.
During the preventive operation, digital equipment and techniques he used to communicate with other extremist elements and explore ways to carry out his terrorist plans were confiscated.
The arrested individual has been placed under judicial supervision as part of an investigation led by the competent prosecutor’s office for terrorism-related cases, to identify the extent of the plan and uncover any potential networks within or outside Morocco.
This operation reflects the vigilance and effectiveness of Moroccan security services in thwarting terrorist plots before they materialize into real threats, reaffirming the kingdom’s commitment to protecting its citizens and ensuring national security and stability.
