Russia Announces Encirclement of Ukrainian Forces
On Wednesday, the commander of a Russian offensive group stated that his troops, part of the “Zapad” Russian forces, are thwarting any movements by encircled Ukrainian armed forces in southern Kupiansk.
In a video released by the Russian Ministry of Defense, the commander said, “We are conducting reconnaissance and targeting the enemy in the wooded areas on the southern outskirts of the city, and we are disrupting any movements by Kyiv’s forces.”
The spokesperson added, “Today, drone crews detected an enemy group attempting to escape from a forested area along the Oskil River. The group, consisting of ten enemy personnel, was eliminated by artillery fire.”
The Russian military official further indicated, “We have discovered two large abandoned arms and ammunition depots belonging to the enemy. Units are currently conducting demining operations.”
