His Majesty decides to make October 31 of each year a national holiday under the name “Unity Day”

In a statement from the Royal Palace:

“In recognition of the historic shift in the course of our national cause, and in light of the crucial developments brought by Security Council Resolution No. 2797/2025, which was the subject of the recent royal speech of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist and support him, to his loyal people, it has been decided to designate October 31 of each year as a national holiday, a day when His Majesty will graciously issue his royal pardon.

His Majesty, may God preserve him, has named this national occasion “Unity Day,” reflecting the deep significance of the nation’s territorial and national unity. This holiday will be a collective occasion to express the commitment to the national sanctities and legitimate rights of the Kingdom.

It has also been decided that future royal addresses will occur on two official occasions: the first during the Throne Day celebration and the second at the opening of the first session of the legislative year.

Furthermore, His Majesty retains, in his capacity as Commander of the Faithful and Head of State, the decision and esteemed discretion to address his loyal people at any time and on any occasion he deems appropriate.

The scheduled celebrations to commemorate the fiftieth anniversary of the glorious Green March will proceed without a royal address to the nation on this occasion.”
