Customs officials at Marrakech Menara Airport foiled an attempt to smuggle two automatic pistols and ammunition concealed within the luggage of a Moroccan traveler arriving from a European country.
The discovery came during routine luggage checks when a scanner detected suspicious objects, prompting customs agents to conduct a thorough examination that uncovered the carefully hidden firearms and ammunition inside the traveler’s bags.
The suspect was immediately apprehended and handed over to airport security for the preparation of an arrest report and confiscation record. Following instructions from the public prosecutor, he was transferred to the judicial police for further investigation into the circumstances surrounding the attempted introduction of weapons into national territory, pending his presentation before judicial authorities.
