CAF Reveals New Visual Identity for African Club Competitions

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) announced today its new visual identity for the African club competitions, represented by the TotalEnergies CAF Champions League and the TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup, ahead of the draw for the group stage scheduled for Monday, November 3, at the SuperSport broadcasting partner studios in Johannesburg, South Africa.

The new identity expresses the rhythm, passion, and energy that characterize African football and the vibrant culture of its fans, under the slogan “Heartbeat of African Football,” which celebrates the unity, passion, and energy that connect the continent through the beautiful game.

The new identity is based on the concept of lively rhythm and movement on the pitch, embodied in the Heartbeat Wave comprising three elements:

  • PEAK: Represents the clubs and moments of victory that push the rhythm upward.
  • FLOW: Represents the match and the players, who maintain the pulse of the game as the grass moves beneath their feet.
  • REPETITION: Represents the rhythm of the crowd, from chants, drums, and dances that create a steady heartbeat within the stadium.

Flowing lines have been designed to represent the constant movement, emotions, and passion associated with African football, ensuring that each element reflects a story and the pulse of the game on the continent.

The new identity offers extensive opportunities for innovative and attractive designs on broadcasting, digital platforms, and events, enhancing fan engagement with competitions that represent the true rhythm of African football.
