Laayoune… Bensaid Chairs “Nostalgia” Celebration for the 50th Anniversary of the Green March

On Thursday evening in Laayoune, Minister of Youth, Culture, and Communication, Mohamed Mehdi Bensaid, alongside the Wali of the Laayoune-Sakia El Hamra region and several officials and elected representatives, oversaw the grand artistic presentation “Nostalgia Laayoune” in celebration of the 50th anniversary of the glorious Green March.

The event, themed “The Green March… A New Era,” revived a collective national memory by employing modern techniques in visual effects and theatrical scenes, embodying the values of solidarity, patriotism, and the national consensus that united Moroccans behind the late King Hassan II.

The “Nostalgia Laayoune” presentations will continue until November 10 at the Am S`aad Square, as part of major cultural initiatives launched by the Ministry of Youth, Culture, and Communication, aimed at commemorating collective memory and fostering a connection to the intangible heritage of the southern regions.

The presentation offers a contemporary artistic vision that blends acting, music, dance, and lights, inviting the audience on a sensory journey through the desert memory and highlighting the role of art in preserving the spirit of the march and affirming Morocco’s unity from Tangier to the southernmost region.
