A British report ranks Morocco among the best affordable tourist destinations in the world for 2025. The report, published by the British channel “GB News,” places Morocco alongside Hungary and the Dominican Republic, highlighting that the kingdom offers a “unique experience that blends Eastern charm, authentic hospitality, and a mild climate, at prices suitable for various demographics.”
The report, prepared by journalist Sarah Gray, is based on comments from Sarah Kemb, the sales director at the British travel company TUI, one of the largest tourism organizations in Europe. Kemb noted that Morocco has recently become a favored destination for Britons looking for mid-range holidays at reasonable prices.
In her remarks to the channel, Kemb stated that “Morocco is an ideal choice for travelers seeking a comprehensive experience that brings together natural diversity, rich cultural heritage, and advanced hotel infrastructure.” She added that Agadir and Marrakech are at the forefront of Moroccan destinations attracting British tourists.
The report emphasized that Agadir, thanks to its Atlantic location and warm climate, has emerged as one of the top winter tourist spots for Britons, noting a steady increase in low-cost flights from London and Manchester to the city. Kemb mentioned that “accommodation offers in Agadir are among the best in North Africa, with British tourists able to spend a week at an all-inclusive resort for less than £500 during the fall and winter seasons.”
As for the “Red City,” it provides visitors with a blend of authenticity and luxury, thanks to its traditional markets, the famous Jemaa el-Fnaa square, and historical architecture. The report elaborated that Marrakech attracts a wide range of British tourists eager to “explore Moroccan culture and Andalusian history in a vibrant atmosphere.”
The report indicated that Morocco’s inclusion among the best affordable destinations reflects its growing position in the European tourist market, particularly with the doubling of direct flights to Marrakech, Agadir, Fez, and Tangier since 2022 through airlines like EasyJet, Jet2, and TUI Airways.
This ranking comes amid a significant recovery in the sector, as Morocco welcomed over 15 million tourists in 2024, a record figure that underscores the kingdom’s success in reclaiming its status among the top global destinations. Additionally, tourism authorities are working on implementing the Vision 2030 plan, which aims to position Morocco among the top ten global tourist destinations regarding quality and sustainability, by developing new spots in the desert and emerging coastal cities like Essaouira, Chefchaouen, and Dakhla.
