Yuri Ushakov, assistant to the Russian president, stated: “The date of the summit will depend on the progress of Trump’s plan and other factors. We will listen to the proposals of our Arab friends and take all viewpoints into consideration.”

The Kremlin announced yesterday that President Vladimir Putin decided to postpone the summit due to the necessity of implementing Trump’s plan in Gaza.

The Kremlin clarified that President Putin agreed during a phone call with Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia’ Al-Sudani that it would be more appropriate to delay the summit, considering that many invited Arab leaders would find it difficult to personally attend in light of the active phase of implementing the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip.

The statement noted that both the Russian and Iraqi sides would communicate the decision to postpone the summit to Arab capitals.
