The government showcases the 2035 sustainable development strategy and discusses new bills and agreements.

Prime Minister Aziz Akhannouch is expected to chair a new government council meeting on Thursday, according to a statement from the Prime Minister’s office.

The agenda for this meeting will include a presentation on the National Sustainable Development Strategy for 2035, to be delivered by the Minister of Energy Transition and Sustainable Development, aimed at enhancing the coherence of public policies in sustainability and environmental transition, in line with the Kingdom’s commitments to climate and green economy issues.

The council will also discuss a draft law amending the Commercial Code, alongside two draft decrees: the first regarding the restructuring of the National Institute of Fine Arts, and the second pertaining to the implementation of the provisions of the law related to social protection institutions.

Council members will further explore a extradition agreement between Morocco and Kazakhstan, signed in Rabat on December 12, 2024, along with a draft law to ratify this agreement.

The meeting will conclude with discussions on appointments to high-level positions in accordance with Article 92 of the Constitution, followed by an additional session dedicated to discussing several legislative proposals.

This meeting takes place within the framework of monitoring major legislative and institutional projects that Morocco continues to pursue, supporting the course of economic, social, and environmental reforms launched by the government.
