In a new step towards enhancing health infrastructure and improving local services, the Tanger-Tetouan-Al Hoceima region witnessed the inauguration of four new-generation health facilities on Friday, three of which are located in the Al Hoceima province and one in the Tangier-Asilah district. This initiative is part of the national program aimed at upgrading and equipping health centers.
The launch is included in a national push that encompasses 49 newly established qualifying health centers distributed across nine regions, as part of the national strategy to reform the health system initiated by the Ministry of Health and Social Protection. The goal is to develop primary care institutions, recognized as the “cornerstone of the national health system.”
These centers are characterized by their modern architecture and advanced medical equipment, allowing for comprehensive health services that include general medical examinations, chronic disease management, maternal and child health programs, as well as school health services and preventive awareness.
To ensure an effective launch, the ministry has mobilized teams comprising over 230 health professionals, including doctors, nurses, and technicians, distributed across the nine beneficiary regions to guarantee quality reception and smooth services, particularly in rural and semi-urban areas.
Citizens believe that the opening of these centers will provide a qualitative addition to the efforts of expanding universal health coverage, translating the royal directives aimed at reducing regional disparities and enhancing access to basic health services.
