Moroccan goalkeeper Yassine Bounou, nicknamed “Lion of the Atlas,” is close to renewing his contract with Al Hilal, extending it by two years after his current deal runs until June 2026.

According to Al Sharq Al Awsat newspaper, Al Hilal’s management is nearing the completion of Bounou’s contract renewal negotiations, with both parties having reached a formal agreement for an additional two-year collaboration. The official announcement regarding the deal will be made soon, following the resolution of other team matters.

Bounou joined Al Hilal in August 2023 from Sevilla on a three-year contract. Since then, the Moroccan goalkeeper has played 99 matches with the team, conceding 94 goals and keeping a clean sheet in 38 of those games.

This renewal is part of Al Hilal’s efforts to enhance team stability and ensure continued high performance ahead of the new season.
