Huawei Launches the 2025 Developer Challenge to Support Digital Innovation and Empower Moroccan Youth
A A

Huawei Technologies Morocco has launched the new edition of the “Huawei Developer Competition 2025” this September, as part of a national initiative aimed at supporting digital transformation and promoting innovation among young developers across the country. The competition will run until December, in partnership with the Ministry of Youth, Culture, and Communication, specifically the Communication sector, under an agreement signed by both parties in October 2024 during the startup day for video games.

This initiative aims to empower Moroccan youth to develop creative digital solutions that address real challenges in various sectors, providing them access to advanced technological tools and practical application experiences. The company considers the competition a key milestone in its strategy to support local talent and keep pace with the digital dynamics in Morocco, asserting that the developer challenge represents one of its most prominent international events targeting the IT and communications developer community.

Each participant will receive financial support vouchers ranging from $100 to $200 to facilitate the implementation of ideas and the testing of prototypes, in addition to cash prizes totaling up to $5,000 for the most outstanding projects, bringing the total prize pool to $20,000. Huawei also allows participants access to open programming interfaces and advanced cloud technologies, enabling them to develop and deploy their applications more effectively.

Participation is open to students, startups, independent developers, and organizations, either individually or in teams of up to five members. The competition phases include registration and training from September to October, project submissions in November, followed by preliminary and semi-final rounds in the same month, with the final stage and award ceremony scheduled for December.

The company anticipates more than 170 teams with over 500 developers from various regions of Morocco, reflecting the significant enthusiasm among Moroccan youth to contribute to national digital transformation. Huawei emphasizes that this initiative goes beyond mere competition, serving as a platform for capacity building and fostering collaboration between the public and private sectors, with the goal of making Morocco a leading regional hub for technology and innovation.
