His Majesty King Mohammed VI affirmed in his solemn speech at the opening of the new legislative year the crucial role played by national media in educating citizens and raising their awareness about laws and public initiatives. He called for their effective engagement alongside other societal actors in the service of the public good.
In his address for the new parliamentary session, His Majesty stated, “Educating citizens and informing them about the initiatives taken by public authorities, as well as various laws and decisions, is not the sole responsibility of the government; it is a collective responsibility that includes parliamentarians, in addition to the media, civil society organizations, and all the active forces of the nation.”
The King emphasized that the current phase requires a more open and effective institutional communication, based on simplifying messages and clarifying public policies to citizens, thereby strengthening trust between the state and society.
