Fes Records a 13% Increase in Overnight Stays Over Eight Months
The city of Fes has experienced a renewed boost in its tourism activity, with the number of overnight stays in classified hotels rising by 13% during the first eight months of 2025, according to the latest data from the National Tourism Observatory.
Figures show that accommodation facilities in the city welcomed over 653,000 overnight stays by the end of August, compared to around 577,000 nights during the same period last year, raising the occupancy rate to 41%, up from 39% a year ago.
Thanks to this performance, Fes has maintained its position as one of the top five tourist destinations in Morocco, alongside Marrakech, Agadir, Casablanca, and Tangier, thereby affirming its ability to attract tourists due to its unique cultural and historical heritage.
In August alone, the scientific capital of the kingdom recorded 68,841 overnight stays, a slight increase of 3% compared to the same period last year, with an occupancy rate of 34%.
At the national level, the total number of overnight stays recorded in classified accommodation facilities exceeded 20.32 million by the end of August 2025, representing a 10% increase, driven by a 13% growth in international tourism and a 5% rise in national tourism.
