Bahrain Reaffirms Support for Morocco’s Sovereignty over Its Southern Territories
The issue of Western Sahara was central to Bahrain’s address before the Fourth Committee of the United Nations General Assembly on Monday, October 13, 2025. Manama reiterated its unwavering support for Morocco’s territorial integrity and sovereignty over its southern regions.
Bahrain’s representative emphasized in an official statement that the country strongly backs Morocco’s serious efforts to reach a political solution regarding Western Sahara, based on the Moroccan autonomy initiative and relevant Security Council resolutions, the latest being Resolution 2765 of 2024, all within the framework of respecting Morocco’s sovereignty and national unity.
The representative reaffirmed Bahrain’s steadfast and supportive position alongside Morocco in defending its security, stability, and territorial unity. She praised the continuous efforts of the UN Secretary-General to find a realistic, practical, and lasting political solution that respects Morocco’s national sovereignty.
This stance once again reflects the deep brotherly relations between the two kingdoms and underscores the increasing Arab support for Morocco’s position regarding Western Sahara and its autonomy initiative, which enjoys broad recognition as the most serious and realistic groundwork for resolving this fabricated regional conflict.
