“Mansouri”: Over 36,000 Young Moroccans Benefit from Housing Support Program

The Minister of National Planning, Urbanism, Housing, and City Policy, Fatima Zahra Mansouri, confirmed that the number of Moroccan youth under 40 who have benefited from the housing support program has reached 36,576 since its launch.

During a question-and-answer session at the House of Councillors on Tuesday, Mansouri indicated that women make up 44.5 percent of these beneficiaries. She noted that the majority of young people, at 63 percent, received support amounting to 70,000 dirhams, while 37 percent benefited from a support package of 100,000 dirhams.

The minister added that the total value of properties purchased by these young individuals exceeded 15 billion dirhams, with the state contributing nearly 2.96 billion dirhams, which represents about 19 percent of the total cost.

Regarding the uptake of the program’s digital platform, Mansouri reported that approximately 166,000 applications have been registered nationwide, of which more than 105,000 are from young people under 40, accounting for nearly two-thirds of all applicants.

She also mentioned signing cooperation agreements with the General Taxation Directorate, the General Treasury of the Kingdom, the Real Estate Registry, and the Chamber of Notaries to simplify the procedures related to housing acquisition. The notarization fees have been set at 2,500 dirhams for homes priced below 300,000 dirhams, and beneficiaries are included in a “Housing Guarantee Fund” to facilitate access to bank financing.

Mansouri further highlighted the launch of the “Youth Passport” initiative last February, which enabled 52 young individuals to purchase their first home in partnership with the Al Omrane Group.
